Photo Story | The Happenings at Church
Churches around the country, and the world, experience an ebb and flow of activity each and every week. They start off as a quiet space, where the stillness is tangible, as lights are off and few, if any people can be found on their grounds. The buildings that were bustling and filled with life are left to recover before the next round of planning and preparation takes place.
As the week goes on, there are glimpses of action and a refreshed energy as volunteers and staff begin planning for the next week of services and activities that will hopefully draw congregants and guests closer to God. From worship sets, cafe prep, and cleaning, teams do their part and sacrifice their time towards a belief that is both extremely personal and shared. When the lights turn on Saturday and Sunday, the energy, the joy, the peace, is tangible as people flood to church seeking healing, restoration, forgiveness, community, hope and faith. All the work, all the planning, all the sacrifices culminate in a weekly expression of faith in action so that many can experience the fullness of the Christian faith. It will have all been worth it for just one soul to be saved.
